Countess Sandra is the only daughter of Kevin Smith, an important Sitka shipping company owner. Sandra inherited his title in 2032. Her father played an important role in acclimatizing Sitka to UKA rule and was awarded the title of Earl of Stockton in 2020.
Sandra attended the University of Portland from 2021 to 2027, earning an M.A. in English Literature. She taaught at the university from the time of her graduation to her father's death. At that point, she entered the House of Lords and bgan her political career. Her husband, Jeremy Brackett (born 5 October 2001, married in 2026) is a Professor of Chemistry at the Harbuck Technical institute. He is known to to be highly intelligent, but totally dominated by his wife.
In the world of UKA politics, she has the reputation of being totally treacherous, and her friends and foes alike treat her with caution. There is no doubt she is a woman of considerable ability. She is known to have wanted the prime ministership when Duchess Julie got it in 2045. She is expected to continue to work behind the scenes to unseat her rival, while maintaining a front of party loyalty throughout.
The couple has no children.
