Service: Royal Air Force
Burly and ruggedly handsome, Mossberger has short, graying black hair and brown eyes. He moves with a surprising lack of grace for a skilled pilot.
Having grown up in the Republic of Portland prior to the advent of the Alaska League, Mossberger was drafted by the Portland Army and fought against the invaders at Silver Springs, being captured in his first few minutes of combat in that disastrous fight. Along with the survivors of his unit, he was transferred to a new Portland-recruited infantry regiment, the 10th Foot, but dissatisfied with life in the army, asked for a transfer to the RAF in 2009, where he was soon accepted for flight school. He was commissioned a flying officer in 2012 and was assigned to the 99th Squadron equipped with GV bombers. A bomber pilot throughout his active flying career, his excellent administrative skills led him to first squadron command in 2020 and group command in 2025. He oversaw the Dominator bomber program and guided that machine's entry into active service. In 2042 he was made Deputy Chief of Staff of the RAF. In 2044, he was made Chief of Staff of the RAF. Upon the suicide of Admiral McDowell in the summer of 2046, he replaced the late admiral as the chief of the Imperial General Staff.
Mossberger is well liked and respected as an administrator, but not much though of as a warrior. He is too new to his job to have instituted much in the way of change, though he is expected to begin a new initiative to improve the UKA's military administration and infrastructure.
