Benny spent most of his youth hunting with a crossbow in the wilds near his home. As he grew older he realized that there was more to life than hunting. Leaving his family and friends behind, Benny moved south and joined the army. It was during his basic training that he showed his intelligence, and was instead slotted into the intelligence branch of the army.
Benny had finally found a place where he could make a difference. His training encompassed the learning of new languages. His ability to speak them was somewhat limited, but he really excelled when it came to reading or writing. He even learned a little bit about codes and codebreaking. Though he enjoyed his new life and status as an officer, he still found the time to go out hunting. It was only when he was out in the field alone that he really felt alive.
He knew that what he was doing was making a difference, even if the ordinary soldier in the field didn't always agree with what came down from intelligence. But he also knew that his correct place was in the field where he could make on the scene analyses. So when the news of this mission reached his ears, he tried to find a way to get a position on the team.
