Begun by William Randolph Hearst in 1919, and completed by 1947, Hearst Castle was a California State Park and Museum in 1985. It was occupied by a local strong man, Jacob Munguia, from the period 1986 to 1993, which ended when Munguia was killed by an invading army of Santa Rosa Nazis. The castle was badly damaged and abandoned to squatters until King Josh visited the ruins in 2023 and ordered it rebuilt. Careful attention was paid by the builders to restore the property to its original glory as accurately as possible. Repairs were completed in 2029.
Hearst Castle is the royal summer vacation residence.
