James Morris, the owner of Morris Chevrolet in Roseburg was one of the most dynamic and successful businessmen in Southern Oregon when the disaster of the nuclear war of 1985 struck. Morris raised a local militia that kept order in the Douglas County area, which avoided the chaos caused by a major infestation of suvivalists in the mountains of Southern Oregon and Northern California. When the snows melted in the spring of 1986, Morris was the undisputed leader of the county. His management style quickly evolved into a benevolent despotism.
The current ruler of Roseburg is Lieutenant General the Duke Gawaine Morris, son of Duke James.
As a Class II Commonwealth member, the Duchy of Roseburg does not possess a military.
