Background and History

Son of a middle class bank manager, John Price was educated in the Portland City School system, graduating from high school in the spring of 2011. Entranced with the sea since early childhood, Price pursuaded his father to get him an appointment as a midshipmen in the Royal Navy. He joined H.M.S. Enterprise on August 8, 2011 and quickly ompressed his seniors with his intelligence and enthusiasm. Price sailed aboard her on her first circumnavigation of the earth the next year. He particularly distinguished himself in December 2012 as part of the operation to rescue King William and Princess Diana from Swansea Castle as part of the extraction force that got the special ops team away with the royals, receiving mention is dispatches by Captain Duncan Keaton. Price was, henceforth, known as a member of "Keaton's Boys," the band of protegees who later filled many of the senior ranks in the Royal Navy. He received a promotion to ensign on March 18, 2013. He promoted to Sublieutenant and was reassigned to the newly launched H.M.S. Ffolkes I the next year, to serve as Second Assistant Gunnery Officer. He was awarded the Order of portland Second Class for his actions at Swansea on January 2, 2014. After that vessels was turned over to the dockyards for a major rebuild in 2017, he was promoted to Lieutenant and assigned as Second Assistant Gunnery Officer on H.M.S. Zama. In February 2024, he was promoted to Commander and assigned as Gunnery Officer on H.M.S. Pharsalus.

Price was promoted to captain and given command of of the light cruiser H.M.S. Admiral Dolphin on February 2, 2029. While in command of that ship, he participated in the battle of Yucatan Straits on May 12, 2032, where his ship supported the breaking of the Roman battle line by the heavy cruisers Zama and Pharsalus and is credited with the torpedoing and sinking of the Roman heavy cruiser Syphax.

In 2034, Price was given command of the Washington Naval District. Two years later, in 2036, he was given command of H.M.S. Zama.
