Each model behicle or gun represents a platoon or battery consisting of four of that type, each personnel stand represents a platoon of approximately 40 men. Units listed in italics are support troops that usually do not accompany the combat elements into the field.
The genesis of the UKA's Royal Army came from the temporary organizations assembled for the Alaska League's invasion and conquest of the Republic of Portland. Organizations were ad hoc and provided by over a dozen allied states, so the range in the size and troop quality of the component units varies considerably.

In 2022, King Josh ordered all infantry regiments standardized to the "Napoleonic" model of six companies each. The number of Regiments in each brigade was reduced to three. A Scout Company was added to each division, as well as rudimentary Divisional Services units. The new "elite" companies were reequipped with captured Roman magazine rilfes or the new Purcell magazine rifle.

By 2026, all UKA regular infantry had been reequipped with magazine rifles. Artillery had been upgraded to more modern smokeless powder weaponry. Due to a shortage of guns, not all divisions had the artillery battalion present.

Growing conflict with the far more sophisticated Imperial Roman Army demanded major improvements to the UKA's arm. Motorization was introduced to some elements of the leg infantry division for the first time. New weaponry was introduced, most significantly, the RPG-7 antitank launcher, and increased machine gun and mortar armament. The brigade mortar batteries were combined in a divisional mortar battalion asssigned to the artillery regiment. Less visible improvements included widespread adoption of radios and considerable expansion of divisional services and battalion logistical elements. Slow production of artillery equipment resulted in many divisions having partial or non-existent artillery regiments. The mortar battalion was always present, however.

The 2038 Infantry Division was single biggest transformation of the UKA Royal Army's infantry organization
since the creation of the first divisions in 2012. The "Napoleonic" six company battalions were converted into four company battalions. Regiments were expanded from single battalion units to
three battalions by amalgamation or expansion. Antiaircaft and antitank battalions were added, and the artillery regiment expanded (at least theoretically) to three battallions.
When King Patrick ordered the army to prepare for the invasion of Imperial Roman France, the new 2040 pattern TO & E was created. It was clear, however,
that it would take a long time to manufacture the equipment for the new TO & E. Therefore, the Imperial General Staff decided to give priority to units designated for Europe.
Divisions in North America retained the older pattern TO & E. The 1st Infantry Division was one of those who were still in North America in 2042, when the Islamic Caliphate attacked
the UKA. The 1st Infantry, known as the "Black Arrow," joined Lt. General S.E. Jordan's army in the long retreat to the Savannah defenses. It particularly distinguished itself in the
defense of that city. It remained on garrison duty in northern Alabama after the armistice. It participated in the Battle of Chattanooga in 2044, and supported the advance of the main armies in the
advance through Tennessee and Kentucky, fighting minor actions. It is currently on garrison duty in the Southern Ohio Province.
