The UKA Royal Army's Uniforms and Insignia

Uniforms

Service Uniforms

The uniforms illustrated above are typical of the normal weight and issue uniforms for temperate climes.

The officer is wearing the regulation Service Uniform Model 2020 for cavalry officers, minus unit and rank insignia. This uniform is made either of heavy weight melton wool for fall and winter use or heavy cotton duck for summer wear. This officer is wearing the regulation leather reinforced riding breeches required for mounted officers. Infantry officers would wear marching boots and trousers as illustrated in the second figure. Leather gear is normally brown. He is wearing the ubiquitous Model 2009 field cap with the ear flaps buttoned up.

The weary private leaning on his Purcell Rifle is wearing the simple canvas duck Model 2013 field jacket, the most commonly worn pattern of coat. He is wearing non-regulation black marching boots, either a private purchase or captured from the enemy. He is wearing the Model 2018 field pack. He, too, is wearing the ubiquitous Model 2009 field cap.

Officer, Full Dress Uniform of the Army Special Forces

The full dress uniform of the Army Special Forces was adopted in 2009 as a reward for the Special Force's outstanding performance at the Battle of Cottage Grove. Chosen by Major William "Wheels" Logan, it is one of the most menacing and is by far the most somber of any worn by any unit in the Royal service. Mustaches are optional!
