Weather Conditions at Hadiboh - Socotra Island as of 0600 Local 03 September:

Current Temp: 88 deg F/31 deg C
Wind: 225 degrees true, speed 21 knots, Sea State 4 with seas to 6 feet, barometer falling.

 

Weather Conditions in Gulf of Aden and Western Indian Ocean.

Wind: 227 degrees true, speed 45 knots, Sea State 6 with seas to 23 feet, barometer falling.


Ceiling 5,000 meters, scattered clouds with approximately 5% cloud cover.  Visibility approximately 10% dues to dust blowing from Africa. 

 

Forecast for today: Conditions worsening, with wind increasing to 65kts.. Seas to 29 feet.   High Temperature: 103 deg F/39 deg C

 

All vessels at sea should immediately seek port or heave to.  No air operations advised.

Afternoon of September 2

 

Royal Navy aircraft attacked and sank two dhows off the north coast of Socotra.  The vessels were carrying a Mongol special forces unit.  Several prisoners were taken.
